Sermon given by the Rev. Nathan Stomberg on 5/2/2021 (5 Easter). We're always told the secret to love and happiness is to "follow your heart." But what if there was a better way? The Rector discusses the true nature of God's love for us, agape love - love that is self-sacrificing.

The shepherds who lead God's people have the sober responsibility to care for and protect the flock. So what are we to make of those who lead the flock astray? The Rev. Galloway discusses the Church's great need for true, good shepherds, who are obedient to the one True Shepherd.

When we choose to walk in the light, and not in darkness, we experience deeper fellowship with God and each other. And even in the smallest choices of daily life, we must decide between living in the Truth, or living in darkness. In Christ, we are assured that a Light will always shine in the darkness, and the darkness will not overcome it.

The Second Sunday of Easter closes out Easter Week, which is observed over eight days (an octave), and it places great emphasis on forgiveness. The Rev. Galloway explains the incredible forgiveness and mercy we receive through Christ Jesus.

Today the Christian message is 'persona nongrata' in all sectors of public life. This is the greatest call of the Church today - in the example of Saint Paul the Apostle - to endure any hardship necessary for the advance of the Gospel.
