Topic: Saint Paul

Though the enemies of the cross shall wish to steal everything from you, they can only steal those earthly things which they hold valuable. But in imitating the saints and martyrs like Saint Paul, we will desire something greater, giving us a Faith in Christ, which can never be taken from us.

A person who is held captive by ideology will use his end to justify any means. This is why we see our own social and political discourse breaking down today - ideology, not reason and the love of Christ, is what controls both sides of the debate. We as a people have been taken captive by philosophy and empty deceit. Listen as the Rector discusses Paul's warning to the Colossians, and to us today.

Our lives are littered with difficulties and differences which seem irreconcilable. The will of the nations are brought to naught, and so the nations go to war. Our own plans for life and ministry are thwarted, and we go to war with ourselves to find the answers. Looking to the Apostles Peter and Paul, let us remember that God’s plan for our lives is dramatically different from what we want in our sin - and that is a good thing.

Today the Christian message is 'persona nongrata' in all sectors of public life. This is the greatest call of the Church today - in the example of Saint Paul the Apostle - to endure any hardship necessary for the advance of the Gospel.
