  • Forward Through the Wilderness

    20 February 2022

    Forward Through the Wilderness

    Speaker: The Rev. Nathan Stomberg

Topic: Annual Reports, Faith, Hope, Vision, Wilderness

    Book: Genesis, Isaiah

As with the Israelites, the place where we once worshipped no longer exists. The way forward is only through the wilderness, through the desert. And God will make a highway and a river to lead us, but it is our responsibility to follow him and not go astray. Thus, it is not about your way or my way, but about God’s way. May Holy Communion Anglican Church in 2022 and beyond be faithful to follow God’s way, wherever it may lead.

  • In God We Trust

    13 February 2022

    In God We Trust

    Speaker: The Rev. Mark Galloway

    Topic: Epiphany, Faith, Trust

Book: 1 Corinthians, Jeremiah, Luke, Psalms

Beloved, we have been living in a spiritual drought in America for a long time. We need to seek out the right type of water to nourish us in times of drought, but as Jeremiah tells us, the heart is deceitful and desperately sick. Only God searches the heart and tests the mind, and only by trusting in him will our souls be refreshed.

  • The Presentation of Jesus at the Temple

    6 February 2022

    Series: Lessons 2021-2022

The Presentation of Jesus at the Temple

    Speaker: The Rev. Nathan Stomberg

    Topic: Baptism, Epiphany, Lessons, Presentation

    Book: Luke

In Luke 2:22-40, we receive the account of the infant Jesus presented at the temple by Joseph and Mary. While we may quickly read past this short account, there is actually a tremendous amount to be learned here.

  • You Shall Not Die

    6 February 2022

    You Shall Not Die

    Speaker: The Rev. Mark Galloway

    Topic: Epiphany, Evangelism, Gospel

Book: 1 Corinthians, Judges, Luke, Psalms

How often do Christians share the Gospel? How often do we share it with our spouses, significant others, children, parents, friends, or coworkers? Sadly, not nearly enough. If the Church does not preach the Gospel, people will not believe, or they will believe the wrong thing. The Church cannot preach the Gospel enough. So why are we so afraid to share the Gospel?

  • Speak the Truth

    30 January 2022

    Speak the Truth

    Speaker: The Rev. Nathan Stomberg

    Topic: Abortion, Epiphany, Responsibility, Truth

Book: 1 Corinthians, Jeremiah, Luke, Psalms

Beloved, we cannot afford to excuse ourselves from the work of ministry. We cannot rely on others to speak the truth while we coast through life. God has anointed each and every one of us with the responsibility to serve Him and share the Gospel. When we excuse ourselves of that responsibility, we are being disobedient, and we harm not only ourselves but the next generation as well – because we are robbing them of an opportunity to hear God’s Word.

  • The Holy Eucharist

    23 January 2022

    Series: Lessons 2021-2022

    The Holy Eucharist

    Speaker: The Rev. Nathan Stomberg

    Topic: Eucharist, Holy Communion, Lessons

Lesson given by the Rev. Nathan Stomberg on 3 Epiphany (1/23/2022). We at Holy Communion Anglican Church observe the Holy Eucharist every week. But what exactly is the Eucharist, and what does it mean for us in the Anglican tradition?

  • Who Do You Say Jesus Is?

    23 January 2022

Who Do You Say Jesus Is?

    Speaker: The Rev. Mark Galloway

    Topic: Epiphany, Gospel, Saint Peter

Book: 1 Corinthians, Luke, Nehemiah, Psalms

Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” Jesus then asked his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” The Apostle Peter confessed Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Our answer to that same question is of eternal importance, making all the difference not only in this life, but also in where we end up in the next.

  • God Rejoices Over You

    16 January 2022

    God Rejoices Over You

    Speaker: The Rev. Nathan Stomberg

    Topic: Epiphany, Joy, Love, Marriage

Book: 1 Corinthians, Isaiah, John, Psalms

Christian marriage, for all its human imperfections, is the greatest representation of God’s love and joy for His people, lived out through Christ and His Church, and celebrated both temporally and eternally in the Holy Eucharist.

  • What is Baptism?

    9 January 2022

    Series: Lessons 2021-2022

    What is Baptism?

    Speaker: The Rev. Nathan Stomberg
