Religion and Morality are Indispensable
Religion and Morality are Indispensable
Book: 1 Corinthians, Ecclesiasticus, Matthew, Psalms
Sermon given by the Rev. Mark Galloway on 6 Epiphany (2/12/2023).
We have become a country untethered from the immutable Truth that a loving Father created us to know, love, and serve Him in this life, which alone is the assured path to our happiness in eternal life. We indeed have perpetual amnesia about this fact (including a majority of those in “the land of the free and the home of the brave” who claim to be Christians). To allow this to become our collective reality is to surrender (in the timeless words of The (1662) Book of Common Prayer) to “the deceits of the world, the flesh and the Devil.” Beloved, each one of must turn to anew to the person of Jesus Christ.
Readings: Ecclesiasticus 15:11-20; Psalm 119:9-16; 1 Corinthians 3:1-9; Matthew 5:21-24, 27-30, 33-37
